Thanks to all my sistahs. I really appreciated all your kind words of support and encouragement. It wasn't easy putting my business on front street, but I have to say that it has been a release for me.

I actually felt the same emotions when I first put Sisterlocks in my hair. You will feel nervous and excited at the same time.

Because something inside of you is saying that this is the right thing to do, but its new territory so you're a little unsure. Once you do it, you feel a calm sense of security.
A peeling away of the old you and a birthday for the new you.

It kinda reminds me of a wedding day. You want to go through with, your excited about and at the same time your sick to your stomach with uncertainty.

I am a big advocate for action. Don't wait for the "right time" because the right time is when that desire hits you.

There's something very earthy yet sensual about having natural hair. I also think that the image of it being ruff and unkept is going away, at least in the minds of our people.

I also think that it really is up to the woman to set the standard of change with respect to this image. Men are not going to do it. Women have to support one another. When you see a natural sista, compliment her. Kind words go a long way.

We have to show men that there is another way to be beautiful. And if natural hair is what you want to rep then you can't second guess yourself.

Thanks for sharing your pain, your lesson, and your emotional triumph. I have benefited from reading several of your post and I want you to know that.

I tagged you, and you can find the rules on my blog if you aren't familiar (-:
